A lot has changed in 5 years.

The year is 2073, and the roles played in the shadows are as important as ever. Street Samurai are still walking through this world with a bold outlook as they carve their legacy through untold mayhem. Technomancers now dance freely between the ‘trix and reality, the so-called Otaku of the past: joined by the hacker, the new ‘wire free’ decker, who blends actuality via PAN. Adepts and mercenaries, riggers, technicians, they all still find plenty of work in this scum pit of society that is Redmond, as the fixers have gotten supply chains up and running once again and the johnsons have plenty of cred opportunities to offer. With the buzz of the new systems afloat, those tied to the ancient ways of magic still watch the madness of this world from near and far, mysteries re-telling themselves to each new face.

When the matrix fell, again, in 2064, it led to a new wireless world constructed amidst blight ridden streets. AR, or Augmented Reality, is the medium between reality and VR, adding another tinge of flavor in the world. Redmond’s changed a lot itself. Outside of Seattle DownTown, rest easy there’s Touristville, the only remaining ‘decent’ area of town which overlooks the barrens of old. A new labyrinth of streets are unfolding, as the markers of the past have been replaced by whole new establishments. Gone are the Banshee, Unknown Pleasures, Hill Street, and the Stainless Steel Rat. Forget Church Street Clinic and Dox’s Arcade. Now there’s the Crash Zone, Glow City, Aces’ Scumpit.

Horrors that once consumed the streets of Seattle have quieted, but the world is still enmeshed by the megacorporations’ influence as well as swollen nations still at a knife-edge with the planet and its evolving creatures. Things have gotten a lot faster. Events and lives grasping at the new networks and changes in the infrastructure can yield unknown possibilities. What can you get wrapped up in, making an ‘honest’ day’s nuyen?

Welcome to New Seattle: Shadows Evolved.

Staff Note: The entryways and access nodes to Seattle have closed. It’s been a good near 20 years, many thanks to Morris, Kynan, Xander, Melkir and Noor for all their effort and hard work. Stay Frosty, Chummer.
